Why KOCHI's YUZU is the best

These are the climatic conditions of Kochi Prefecture.

Yuzu is more cold-hardy than other citrus fruits and does not like dry or tropical climates. Therefore, it is said that a warm climate with an average annual temperature of 12 to 15 degrees Celsius and a cool climate of at least minus 7 degrees Celsius are most suitable for cultivation, and the larger the temperature difference, the easier it is to grow high-quality yuzu.

The climate of Kochi Prefecture is a perfect match for this climatic condition.

Kochi Prefecture has a relatively mild climate with more than 2,000 hours of sunshine per year, but it also has a rainy climate of around 2,500 mm in the plains and more than 3,000 mm in the mountainous areas where yuzu cultivation is particularly active.

In this way, even though there are many warm days throughout the year, the climate of Kochi Prefecture has a large temperature difference with cool air flowing in due to rain. Especially in inland mountainous areas where the temperature difference is intense, the sunlight is good and the drainage is good, so the yuzu produced is highly regarded from all over the country because of its large size, fragrant, and beautiful golden yellow color.
